2. Listening to Mussorgsky's The Great Gate of Kiev, I thought it would be surely worth the effort to travel to the Ukraine and see Kiev’s Great Gate. As it turns out, there isn’t any such gate, great or not, at Kiev. Mussorgsky had a friend, Vladimir Stasov, who was an art critic. Stasov also knew Victor Hartmann, and artist, and introduced.
